July 28, 2014

Mending a Little Stool with Mending Braces
July 27, 2014
I received a Facebook message with this photo from my junkin' friend, Jodi . It said that she had dropped a little stool on her garage floor and broke it. She said she would give me the stool, and I could figure out something to do with it. Of course I didn't turn it down.

Welcome to Organized Clutter's 2014 Junk Garden Tour! This year I asked my friend and coworker, Val, to photograph my tour. Val has a great camera, and is a great photographer. So sit back and view my gardens through her eyes and her lens. The macros are amazing!

A Repurposed Crank Handle Hook
July 20, 2014

On any given day, this could be the scene in my friend Jodi's garage. On this particular day, Jodi photographed her 300+ signs, that she prepared in just two weeks for the Fargo Junk Market . Mann Made Signs are rustic wood signs painted up in all colors and fonts for literally ALL occasions, subjects and people. Jodi
Garden Junk Doesn't Last Forever
July 16, 2014
Here are two of my old favorites in the junk garden...my weathered gray chair and my Perfection heater. Both have been in the garden for a lot of years, AND the elements have taken their toll.

Two Easy Flower Pot Hangers For The Junk Garden
July 13, 2014
Do you know what this is? If you are a northern girl like me chances are you know it is an ice fishing hole skimmer. This is an older one as the newer ones have a plastic circle with holes. I purchased this one for $2 at the thrift shop.
Thrift Shop Purchases Re-Purposed As Decorative Garden Flower Picks
July 11, 2014
Can you guess what these are? I saw them for $2 at a local thrift shop, and asked the clerk. She didn't know, but they had them situated with old tools and such. Luckily, they had some writing on the ends. They were marked Ekco Forge Aluminum Heat Rods. I googled them when I got home and found out they were for baked potatoes.
Repurposed Earring & Ring Holder
July 10, 2014
I found this shelf at the thrift shop for $2 recently. Not sure if it was homemade or what it was orginally used for.
Painted & Re-Purposed Vintage Everlast Forged Aluminum Tray
July 08, 2014
I had the day off from work today and planned to garden and work on projects. This was the scene at our bird feeder at 5:00 a.m. this morning. Two does were helping themselves to sunflower seeds. The poor deer on the right has a bum leg and actually walks on three legs. I have sprayed my flowers occasionally with Liquid Fence deer repellent this year but not last night, and with all the rain we have been having, I should have sprayed almost every day.
Holiday Junk: Re-purposed Rusty Spring Tree
July 06, 2014
I purchased 15 assorted rusty old industrial springs recently for a buck a piece. Pinterest has many pinned projects with re-purposed bed springs, but not hardly any with this type of heavier and cylindrical spring.
Outdoor This & That 19: Wheelbarrow Container Gardens & New Garden Angel
July 06, 2014
This old wheelbarrow was one of my very first junk garden accessories, and it remains my favorite. I seal it with Thompson's Water Seal almost every year to preserve it's chippy, weathered goodness as long as I can.

Here is the framed violet lobelia on July 5, 2014. I like it, but LOVE the blue one! What do you think?
